Brace yourself for the battle of the exes...
Hayden and Nick used to be a hot item, but their brief affair ended with a highly publicized breakup. Now the two are "just friends," excluding the occasional flirtation.
When Hayden wins the girls' division of a local snowboarding competition, Nick is unimpressed, claiming that Hayden wouldn't have a chance against a guy. Hayden calls Nick's bluff and challenges him to a head-to-head boarding contest. Their mutual friends quickly take sides, the girls on Hayden's and the boys on Nick's, making for an all-out battle of the sexes. This friendly competition is bound to get heated—and they might end up igniting some old flames.

Confession time : This is actually the first novel i read from Jennifer Echols, and i don't think it will be the last :D

I had mixed feelings about this book(when i was reading it), because of some characters or situations(like, here i was all LOL,this is awesome, how cute... and then something had to happen.).I especially did not like one thing about Nick(the rest of him is just fine, but hey..If this thing with Hayden doesn't work out, i'd be happy to replace her:>).He did not like to lose, did not want to be rejected(and in the beginning this annoyed me,but soon i learned that actually i was the same,so i could really understand him),and if i am being honest , Hayden had a scene when i thought...what the hell.
What really annoyed me was the almost finale scene.(Or rather the lack of.It did was a thing i was really waing for).
That was all the not-so-good things i have to say about it,and none were super important.
“You had a bet. You couldn't lose a bet. If you had a choice between me and winning, you'll choose winning every time. It's still true.”
“Nick might have enjoyed making out with me. He might even want to be with me. But more than anything, Nick wanted to win. And winning me over wasn't enough. ”

There were a lot of things i liked about this book.First ,there was the competition, and the bet that quickly became a battle of the sexes.
Nick and Hayden's relationship was the hot and cold one. They either fight and make up ,or make up then fight. And it was fun.
Then there were also a few moments when i couldn't do anything else that to love(girls run the world!)
“You had better not," I shouted after him."Do you hear me,O'Malley? I will tell Gavin's sister you slept with a stuffed bunny abbit until you were in middle school,so help me God!”
I also loved that every chapter tittle was a snowboarding related word(s) and 2 explanations.I can say i did learn something useful from this !Here is an example:
seat belt

(st belt) n. 1. a trick in which a snowboarder reaches across the body and grabs the board while getting air 2. what Hayden needs to fasten, because Nick is about to take her for a ride.

This one is a fun, light read.I would recommend it to all those who like stories with them, but one thing to be clear. They are in 11th grade,so they are not near mature. Also perfect for a holiday read.
