Question of the week:

Which book genre do you avoid at all costs and why?

I mainly avoid horror books.I'm very sensitive and I'm scared easily. And most of the time i have nightmares.Simple as that.Actually it states in my review policy that i do not read Horror or even remotely scary books :)

  3. I actually like a good horror story occasionally! But I've noticed that this doesn't seem to be the most popular genre choice. :D

  4. I enjoy horror stories! I don't get scared easily though so that makes them more enjoyable to me. Any book that can get my heart pumping is a thrill actually. I can totally understand though why some people stay away.

  5. Hi, there!

Thanks for commenting on my TGIF post, and then following my blog! I'm following you back now.

I agree with you 100% on the horror genre. I avoid it, too. I CAN'T STAND Stephen King, for example. Ditto Dean Koontz, Edgar Allan Poe, and any other horror writers! I'm a sensitive soul like you, and very easily scared. You know, I made the HUGE mistake of reading "The Exorcist" a few years back. Guess what...I couldn't sleep well for an entire week!! And I didn't even see the movie!! So this genre is DEFINITELY out for me!

I do enjoy reading novels about vampires, ghosts, werewolves, and shapeshifters. BUT, these have to be ROMANCE novels. I don't like reading novels in which these creatures are evil. So I detest Dracula, and others of his kind. I LOVE Edward Cullen, the romantic vampire in The Twilight Saga. I love the werewolves in the Nightshade series. And I once read a BEAUTIFUL novel, titled "Tryst", in which a ghost and a young girl fell in love...sigh...so beautiful... The book is out of print, unfortunately, so it's very expensive to get. The author's name is Elswyth Thane. Check it out on Wikipedia. You'll be able to read the synopsis there.

I'm currently reading "Wake Unto Me", which is another tale of ghostly love, and is beautiful, as well.

Oh, and as for submitting a guest post for your blog, I'm definitely interested! Let me know when, okay?

    Happy Friday!! : )

  11. Hopping through! Definitely not a fan of horror, I don't often try it. I do read Stephen King, but I learned the hard way not to do so at midnight. Nightmares for days after that!
