Rating:  3 Stars!
Blurb: Jessa is one healing away from death. Under the thrall of her gift, the Court’s Senior Healer risks giving her life in exchange for her patient’s.
Vale is a rebel ruler. When his brother is killed, he’s given the throne and the decree from the Court to produce an heir or lose his family’s hold on the land——and his deceiving advisors aren’t afraid to use murder as a weapon if their directive to stay away from the Senior Healer goes unheeded.
But Vale burns to possess Jessa. The heat between them leaves a wake of smoke, and even the powerful forces above want to bind them forever. Vale taking another would be a betrayal neither could survive.
Their enemies fear a child born of such a powerful Healer and Warrior, but little do they know, the true threat lies in the bond forged in shadows and fused in fire.

The action takes place in the Realm of Shadows, even through there are stories of how the Shadow Shifters relocated to this realm in 657 .There were Four Spiritual gifts :Warrior, Healer, Seer and Sensitive. They all seemed interesting and stuff, but what really made me wish i was part of that world was my own selfish wish to be  a Sensitive !
The book is divided in many Pov's :Jessa, Vale, Verity,Andre and Caleb and some others but they are the important ones.
While i really found interesting to read the"bad  guys " Pov, I found it quite unlikeable.I found their thinking quite fascinating ,there were too many details revealed.I could have lived with less, because to be honest it seemed predictable.
There were a few funny moments :
Dear Arianna,
If you marry Andre, I will come back to haunt you. Take
care of Vale.
Love,
Zander
 Or this one…
Her pretty little features scrunched up. “Idiot.”
He blinked. Had she just . . .
She folded her delicate arms. “I called you an idiot.”
No one had ever called him an idiot. Twice. He opened his
mouth. Closed it. He shook his head and looked at her.

A thing that really bothered me was the rumour that the Healers practised Sexual Healing..without a fact, or something.
Another thing  that really bothered me and also made me think so lowly of Vale is his attitude when facing the Court's refusal of their marriage. Not only that he was a total pain and a jerk for some, but he only thought of himself. He is the king,he must marry (even through the Bride the council approves of doesn't want to ) and even through he loves Jessa ..love..is it really?Well , it must not be that strong!Well...since i gave this book a 3 star ,something has changed, but i don't wanna give away any spoilers !!
The Characters and their relationships !
Female Main Character:Jessalyn
Male Main Character:Valerian
The Main Characters Relationship: I liked Vale and Jessa's relationship and interactions with each other( how it progressed). They had a lot of funny moments (well..for the reader..I'm not sure if some were funny for Vale..)
Other Secondary Characters that stood out: A secondary character i sure want to know more about is Caleb (the Varner's new leader ,but I also like Damon , his younger brother) but also more about their culture and how they progress in an unknown territory.
As of Now, I am team Caleb !! (against whomever...in the book)
The Last Line !

I enjoyed reading most of this book but some actions and stuff Vale did really ruined some  parts for me…(I just don’t agree with him), but I sure DO want to read more about this new realm and maybe Caleb..??:>
